in the last 4.5 days i’ve driven from WV to MD to PA to MD to VA. tomorrow, after work, i drive back to MD, then on to WV.
laden with camping impedimenta, my newly acquired Subaru Outback makes tangible my yearning for Old Timers — a respite overdue.
after too short a visit with family in the city of my birth, @Natterjack and i departed on different wheels from those which carried us in.
eating fruit salad from a bag. [munch munch] fruit is gone, juice remains. [sigh] wishing i had a straw.
listening to the same 90 min podcast i heard 10 days ago in the car, because i can’t remember one word of it! was i driving in my sleep?!

and so begins another midnight run up, over, then down into the east.
rinsing the dishes and checking my packing list. (forgetting anything really sucks, once it’s 300+ miles in your wake.)
my niece Zuza is on the webcam, telling me stories (of her own devising) about “Jasper” & “Bounce”, and asking when i’ll arrive there.
pulling semi-random camping gear out of the shed and stacking it in the backseat, like Tetris when the pieces are coming too fast.
