June 2008
heading for the drive-in with @Natterjack and @Mydwynter, to see “Prince Caspian”.
May 2008
updated my primary laptop to Mac OS X 10.5.3 (via Software Update); now downloading and installing Saft 10.0.9.
lazy leaves loiter on the lulling river waters, as a steady rain falls. inside, the coffee drips.
supper at midnight @Natterjack, homemade pot pies, cheap Aussie red wine, and another episode of The Sopranos. windows open.
performing an early Rite of Summer. now the interior airs circulate with the gentlest breeze, smelling of wood, and oil soap.

worked outside all afternoon and evening, with @Natterjack, knocking multiple items off my @HearthHill to do list.
refreshed by a dip in the swimming hole, now blocking out a new kitchen garden with @Natterjack.
though overwhelmed with a deep backlog of work, sitting on the porch swing on a perfect afternoon in May makes it feel alright.

i knock down the fire, kick the larger logs to the sides of the fire pit, and leave the red coals to slowly fade to grey, then black.
